ONCE UPON A TIME ... THERE WAS BONNIE & CLYDE

Posted by on

You’ve called a shoe Bonnie, like Bonnie & Clyde?
Well let’s not get carried away! There are no outlaws here! But it’s true that Bonnie (our Bonnie) knows how to bring out contrasts, a bit like the story of the two infamous criminals: they might have been crooks and assassins, but they were also madly in love and romantic...

DISCOVER BONNIE

“Bring out contrasts”: tell us more
Bonnie is based on a masculine lace-up boot, brought to life by a fun, studded covering which you definitely couldn’t call “classic”... Although they’ve made an appearance here and there in our latest Collections, I love these little shining lights that add a playful touch to shoes we’d normally associate with our most plain and simple outfits.

There’s nothing better to show off your masculine wardrobe than a brushed leather lace-up. And if it’s good quality leather (like ours!), these shoes make a perfect outfit. Bonnie is everything but “masculine”: it’s fun to see what a few little modifications can do, right?

Right! After all, at MarcoMoreo we’ve got a weakness for changing styles...
Yes, exactly. If you had to say what my brand’s defining feature was, it would be that in every Collection there’s the desire to mix up different parts of the shoe and play with contrasts. As though each part of the shoe was a small piece to put back together with both creativity and a touch of irony. Because laughter is good for the soul.

Do you have any other examples, in this Collection, where you’ve playfully mixed different elements?
Well, Bonnie is definitely in the same vein as Alexa e DedeAlexa is the gritty loafer: a super classic shape dotted with studs - the ideal shoe to light up even the darkest winter.

Dede is the quintessential MarcoMoreo-style ankle boot, with a clean shape, decorative zip, contrast stitching, perfect ankle height and super flat sole. And what gorgeous leather... An absolute gem in my opinion, I'm super proud of it ;)
